Leading a team of Compliance & Risk professionals to ensure there is a strong working relationship with the 1LoD with an emphasis on providing pragmatic and timely advice, also ensuring frequent business interactions which monitor changes in its risk environment
Assuming responsibility for the European Risk & Compliance function and updating stakeholders on key compliance matters and emerging risks whilst driving the development and implementation of the Group risk management frameworks, policies, standards, processes and procedures
Promoting a sustainable culture of risk awareness in the Corporate Markets business that is consistent with our core values
Maintaining strong relationships with our external compliance providers in Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
Identifying, analyzing and assessing proposals for newly identified risks within the Corporate Markets business which includes new products, variations in products and/or business acquisitions
Actively collaborating with peers to further develop a leading Risk & Compliance function which includes being an important member of the Corporate Markets Leadership Team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrable experience within the financial services industry in Europe with a deep understanding and working knowledge of the regulatory framework; it would also be desirable if you have good working knowledge of key legislation relevant to the share registry and share plans business in the UK and Europe
Knowledge and experience within a regulatory environment including a sound understanding of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders
Resilience, courage, a desire to succeed and a strategic mindset
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrable ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders of all levels whilst building effective relationships
Experience leading a small, high performing team
Knowledge and previous experience with risk management frameworks, especially in respect to operational risk management, governance and reporting within the UK financial services industry
A qualification in Business, Commerce or a related field is desirable but not essential, combined with ongoing professional development demonstrating learning agility
