Job Description

My client is looking to take on a permanent Procurement Manager in their team near the Buckinghamshire area.

The Procurement Manager role will involve:

  • Managing the Procurement department
  • Defining and developing an effective procurement strategy and implementation
  • Devising and agreeing cost down projects to achieve overall business targets
  • Overall management of the supply chain and procurement teams; setting goals and KPI’s to achieve team targets
  • Overall responsibility for the working capital on all components in the UK and Ireland
  • Taking charge of strategic and category procurement for all materials, analyze current prices, and manage working capital effectively
  • Providing management with regular updates on overall spending

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ideally 5 years previous experience in a similar Procurement Management position
  • Have previously worked in a manufacturing environment
  • Have good attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure
  • Experience reporting to Senior Management and providing business analysis insights
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to be able to work with a variety of people at varying levels
  • A good level of engineering knowledge; be able to understand NPD and PI activity
  • Be adaptable to changing business needs and be able to devise and implement new strategies
  • Experience in stock control and management
