Job Description

You'll draw upon your deep delivery experience and senior engagement to influence delivery of the Strategic Plan and the Change Execution Risk profile on behalf of the Group Executive and Board as well as reporting on Portfolio performance and risk matters directly to our Regulators. You’ll work closely with Platform teams to ensure that their Change reporting data is of appropriate quality as well as drawing on strong, positive relationships that allows you to draw an informed, credible opinion on the performance of the Portfolio, what the current challenges are and, more importantly, what the future portfolio risks are and recommend what interventions are required in order to mitigate. You’ll require outstanding judgment, experience and courage to find the right balance and empathy in your insights that ensures you bring all of your stakeholders with you in pursuit of ensuring the success of the Change Portfolio.

You’ll own the overall Change Execution Risk on behalf of the Group and be responsible for re-engineering our approach, risk appetite metrics and control environment to ensure it continues to provide the robust risk framework for Change in our new Changing Together Platform operating model and incorporating the outcomes into your overall portfolio assessment. You'll help drive maturity of the Groups Change Execution Risk profile in conjunction with actions agreed at Board Risk Committee and provide an aggregated view for the Group at regular intervals.

The function is also responsible for over-sighting the Chief Operating Office function’s Change Portfolio on behalf of the Group Chief Operating Officer through monthly performance reporting that ensures appropriate financial control, risk management and progress monitoring.

So what will you be accountable for?

  • Deriving the performance of the Change Portfolio, future risks and mitigants that ensures the Executive and Board can oversight the Group’s Strategic Transformation
  • Ensuring the Chairman, Group Chief Operating Officer and Group Financial Officer are able to discharge relevant regulatory actions in relation to Strategic Transformation and Change Execution risk
  • Leading timely updates on Portfolio progress and health for key forums including, Board, Board Risk Committee, Strategic Delivery Committee (SDC), Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Portfolio Delivery Forum (PDF)
  • Leads regular proactive engagement with the Regulators (PRA/FCA) to keep them informed of the Group’s Strategic Transformation and Change Execution risk profile
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Platform Leads and Business Units who own Change Execution risks for their own portfolio to provide a well-rounded view of aggregated Portfolio Performance and Change Execution risk
  • Ownership of the aggregated Portfolio delivery and performance & risk, understanding financial risks and opportunities, costs and benefits
  • Accountable for leading the Portfolio Management Operations Team to ensure a healthy function with robust Financials, Resourcing and Reporting capability

  • Ability to develop deep and collaborative relationships across all levels, up to GEC
  • Ability to provide practical, balanced valid insight and recommended interventions using various data points and qualitative insight
  • Proven ability to author and present Board and Regulator quality documents regularly and consistently
  • Deep Change delivery track record with a proven credibility amongst a senior audience
  • Strong communicator, capable of delivering clear messages & effective storytelling
  • Natural negotiator, able to resolve multiple conflicting views with empathy and consensus to focus on value generation for the Group
  • Dynamic, flexible and energetic approach, able to priorities and simplify complex deliverables to demanding timescales
  • Experience of change delivery which can be used to influence and drive consistent ways of working
  • Detailed understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates
