Job Description

The core element of this role is to enable the growth of the PM function throughout the UK Wealth business. The candidate would be expected to work in multiple locations on short term projects to help set up systems, deploy service standards, train portfolio managers and engage with Investment managers to ensure their expectations are met. In addition, the role would involve the following within different locations:

  • Manage and review client portfolios, making decisions which reflect the mandate of the individual client and be in accordance with the firm`s stated research and suitability processes.
  • Ensure that the investment process positions the clients within the correct suitability bandings.
  • Liaise with client relationship managers (IM or WP) to ensure business meets client objectives
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of investment products, market and professional expertise and an understanding of regulatory requirements to deliver the best level of client service.
  • Execute the firm's operating procedures effectively and, for all regulated activities, as required by the FCA.
  • Contribute to initiatives in the team, office or business that improve the strength and quality of the business and the service proposition for clients.
  • Liaison with the Investment & Research Office on investment ideas
  • Update/maintain discretionary desk systems and research.
  • Provide appropriate MI regarding client investment performance/suitability bandings to the IMs or senior management as required.
  • Other responsibilities necessary to manage the Desk appropriately

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The successful individual is expected to hold the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and the CISI Chartered Wealth Management Qualification (CWMQ) and fully signed off as competent. We would encourage each candidate to complete the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing. We would expect at least 3 years qualification experience within Investment Management, preferably with an emphasis on discretionary fund management.
