Job Description

You will work as part of one of the department’s individual units or institutes, in a varied and challenging role with responsibility for monthly management accounts, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. This fast-paced and busy roles covers a wide range of responsibilities, where you will partner closely with the Finance, HR and Grants teams as well as with the wider University.

Confident in dealing with senior stakeholders across the department and wider University, you will act as an expert point of contact and take ownership of the implementation of the month end timetable in your unit or institute, producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts to assess financial performance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will be self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively as part of the wider department, where the ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities is key to this role, as well as strong communication and organizational skills. It is essential that you are either currently studying towards a relevant CCAB or CIMA professional accountancy qualification and have successfully completed foundation level or equivalent. You will also have previous experience of financial IT systems e.g. Oracle, SAP, in a large accounting environment. The ability to create detailed financial reports, highlighting key insights and emerging trends is key to the role.
