Analyze financial information to assist business profitability and growth via the monthly management accounts
Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making for each budget holder on a monthly basis
Build strong and positive relationships with senior staff and provide them with the necessary assistance and professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts and support the statutory audit preparation
Partner with operational colleagues to contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning
Manage capital expenditure and maintain the fixed asset register for all asset classes
Produce financial statements including accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns and annual adjustment
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
Accountability for cash flow and production of forecasts
Review monthly reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts
Assessment of monthly expenses and credit card spend
Production of relevant commercial analysis e.g., margins and pricing
Review and assist development with investment / project appraisals
Lead and line manage the Assistant Management Accountant, allocating work appropriately and providing guidance and support
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
Advanced excel skills
Ability to collect and interpret financial and operational data to assess efficiency and effectiveness, undertaking analysis and reporting and making recommendations as appropriate
Thorough understanding of management information systems
Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate and influence with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
