Job Description

Working closely with the Head of Department, the Head of Administration and Finance is central to the effective management and leadership of the department as well as to its efficient administration. You will have both strategic and operational responsibilities especially in creating, implementing and developing the department’s administrative systems and procedures within University and divisional frameworks. You will oversee the administration and finance (turnover in excess of £4 million p.a.) of all component parts of the department and lead a small team of staff responsible for all non-academic and support functions.

You will have proven management and administrative skills, including the line management of an administrative support team to ensure that a high quality service is delivered. You will have demonstrable financial expertise, including both the ability to consider financial matters at a strategic level, as well as proven experience of budgeting, monitoring budgets and financial reporting.
