Job Description

The role will be one of 2 Heads of Finance reporting to the CFO and will primarily be responsible for the leadership of the Commercial Finance function. In so doing the individual will have accountability for all finance business partnering and financial planning, analysis & reporting activity, as well as supporting the CFO in the delivery of his business objectives.

This will play a key part in driving future business performance through influencing the commercial decision-making process and providing insightful analysis to the key decision makers.

As a key part of the finance leadership team, you will also play an important role in making Finance a great place to work as we continue to develop the team culture in a post Covid world, as well as helping the team adapt to the evolving needs of the business

What you’ll be doing?

• Leadership & Influencing: lead and inspire the Commercial Finance team of 8 FTE (3 Senior Managers, 1 Manager & 4 Analysts), working with the CFO to set the team strategy and priorities. This team encompasses all business partnering for Buying & Merchandising, Trading, Stores, Online, Distribution, International, Marketing and Head Office functions as well as all business Planning & Reporting activities
• Monthly Performance Reporting: lead the production of the monthly performance review document to be presented to the operating Board each period. This will reflect all the key metrics, trends & dynamics of the business and provide the relevant insight behind current & future expected performance
• Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
• Trading: lead the production of all business daily & weekly trade reporting to ensure a consistently high-quality product for end users that provides the relevant insight & analysis around our key trading metrics
• Distribution: working with the Head of Logistics, provide the appropriate operational insights & analysis, to support the drive to improve the efficiency and service levels in the Distribution Centre
• International: working with the CFO to develop the appropriate models to analyze the commercial viability of various International opportunities
