Job Description

The Finance department is working to transform their function in order to provide the highest level of financial insight and analysis, performance metrics, and decision support to enable improved business outcomes. They are transitioning from manual, inconsistent procedures and addressing technology challenges and staff knowledge gaps to a client-focused approach. To promote a data culture and increase efficiency, the organization is implementing initiatives such as on-demand access to business metrics.

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Finance Analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting financial data to provide meaningful insights and support informed decision-making.

  • Collect, enter, cleanse, and verify the accuracy of financial data from multiple sources
  • Utilize software (Anaplan, PowerBI and Excel) to develop models, reports, and simulations to support decision-making
  • Deliver action-oriented analysis, scenario based, and propose recommendations that support the Heads of businesses in their strategic decision making
  • Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor and analyze trends in external financial data (industry and market trends) to identify potential areas of optimization
  • Develop detailed reports and presentations to summarize findings and insights
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accuracy of data and reliability of processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a finance environment
  • Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, particularly Excel, Power Bi (Report Builder experience) and Anaplan.
  • Experience in Project management and knowledge of lean Sigma an asset
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
