Job Description
The Director, Private Markets Product supports the development and management of Private Markets’ product platform across asset classes with a focus on solutions for European institutional investors. The position can be located in any location in the European region where Manulife Investment Management has an office.
Responsibilities Include:
- The Director, Private Markets Product is responsible for the strategic build out and organic growth of the institutional asset management businesses within Private Markets asset classes with a focus on products and solutions for European investors.
- Leading product development for private assets in Europe, including structural design and implementation of fund platform/vehicle.
- Partnering with the investment teams and regional distribution, define the strategy on how Private Markets will attract and retain institutional capital within each asset class inclusive of determining:
- The product / offering pipeline
- Target investor segments
- Go-to-market strategy
- Resourcing / talent roadmap
- Growth targets / milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability among partners and stakeholders
- Work closely with internal and external legal and tax advisers in structuring and negotiating documentation for funds, accounts and JVs in Europe, including:
- Evaluation of legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, liquidity, currency risk, asset specific factors driven by European client's needs, and
- Implementation of optimal fund and account structure for European clients.
