Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity within our finance division for a maternity cover for the Director of Development Finance. The role will report into the Deputy Group Finance Director and be a member of the finance leadership team. You will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the Development & Sales division through effective finance business partnering.

You will be expected to lead and support a large team of finance professionals providing end to end development support including management & KPI reporting, budgeting & forecasting, statutory accounting, governance compliance, financial planning, project appraisal and investment hurdles, financial support for development joint venture & partnerships. Alongside accountability and responsibility for production of all statutory financial reporting, regulatory returns and trading statement updates for all development and sales activity, include joint ventures, development subsidiaries, stock & WiP, provisions and impairment for a circa £5bn development programme.

Strong communication skills are an essential element to this role as well as being able to work collaboratively, negotiate and influence excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and partners internal and external. You will represent finance and company on variance internal and external boards. You will be expected to work collaboratively with others in the Group, including the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Group, Panels, Committees and external partners and parties (including membership on Investment Property Group, Joint Venture and Development Subsidiary companies).

You will need to be a technically proficient qualified Accountant with experience of operating at a senior level. The role will require you to have considerable commercial/financial acumen with excellent analytical skills, as you will be required to set performance targets and provide sound financial and commercial advice to the Development and Sales Directorate.

You will be expected to maintain and update policies and procedures, whilst implementing innovative processes and systems in order to achieve regulatory, legal and governance compliance.
