Business partner with a range of stakeholders to understand performance vs budget, promptly highlighting areas of concern, focus or potential improvement.
Be a key player in the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts working alongside stakeholders from across the business.
Preparation of relevant, timely management information to equip the commercial team with the information required to make business decisions including analysis of margin drivers to provide greater insight into trading performance.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
Co-ordination, production and delivery of monthly trading reports and commercial insight for senior management, in the format of a newly designed Commercial Finance 'MI' Pack.
Analysis of revenue by brand, product, customer and channel at both revenue and gross margin level with commentary for key highlights and variances to budget / forecast / prior year. Provision of monthly sales data to commercial team, to include analysis of revenues and margin support costs at a granular level that track against budget, prior year and forecast.
Development of data workbooks to enable analysis of unit volumes and average selling price (ASP) by product, highlighting key opportunities or concerns to management.
Maintenance of a centralized standard costing workbook from data provided by local financial controllers, needed to facilitate analysis and reporting of margin performance at product level.
Implement processes to ensure the latest revenue forecasts are captured each month from around the business.
Enhance existing reports to visualize performance i.e. graphical style with comparatives to budget, prior year and forecast.
Production of key account P&Ls for selected top customers across the Group (including Amazon profitability reporting working closely with the Head of E-Commerce) to be included in the Commercial Finance 'MI' Pack.
Presentation of information to Board as required at Group board or Strategic meetings. Business Improvement
Commercial project support e.g. evaluation of new product development proposals or plans to internalize / outsource production.
Collaboration with sales team in the UK and overseas to drive margin improvements and take decisive action on low margin customers etc.
Develop and streamline processes to ensure more effective delivery of revenue performance information.
Maintaining an analysis of key customer contracts to include key terms, products and highlight any specific accounting considerations e.g. royalty accruals.
Ad hoc finance analysis / support as required M&A Projects
Close and effective communication with key stakeholders to commercially and financially evaluate potential opportunities.
Support management with the identification and management of risks and issues, escalating where needed.
