Job Description
  • Responsibility for delivering the results and reporting for our recently acquired US-based business (will require some non-UK hours to be worked), including working with their CEO to ensure that full Finance support is provided.
  • Manage the month-end process, driving the team to deliver within five working days.
  • Responsibility for sales order fulfilment for transactional products and reviewing and posting monthly revenue recognition journals.
  • Responsibility for the review of monthly subscription revenues to ensure any key variances are noted and where required, investigated and corrected.
  • Analyze and report monthly results, variances and trends to internal stakeholders and as part of the Board reporting.
  • Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliation reviews and ensure that any adjustments are made where necessary.
  • Management and development of two direct reports and one indirect report.
  • Working with senior managers on projects, including cost reductions and revenue expansion.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with both finance and non-finance staff across the business.
  • Ad-hoc analysis to support internal stakeholders.
  • Working with the team to identifying and rollout process improvements, creating efficiencies where possible.
  • Ad-hoc requirements around management accounts and month-end.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
  • 3+ years post-qualified experience.
  • Management of subscription-based revenues including contract reviews and revenue recognition analysis.
  • Proven experience in developing solid relationships with key stakeholders and being able to influence decision-making, including challenging stakeholders where necessary.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in querying and analyzing data as well as drawing conclusions on the bigger picture and how that can impact commercial decision-making.
