Job Description

You’ll be responsible for leading complex FP&A activities as determined by management. You’ll have the opportunity to partner with the finance business partners, divisional Finance Directors alongside other management teams to support the development of FP&A capability.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead a team in reporting, budgeting, forecasting, decision support or data management and produce output
  • Interact with and challenge on assumptions and conclusion to ensure rigour in analysis
  • Bring additional cross company Divisional or Group function insights to analysis including market knowledge, historical information, provisions, accruals and reasons for variances
  • Develop complex reports, models and approaches to support projects where there may be incomplete or conflicting data and provide recommendations
  • Analyze existing and forecast finance information to ensure that information is accurate, providing detailed explanations on errors or variances that have occurred against budget. Where errors are found provide information and analysis
  • Provide advice on cost control to ensure correct financial processes and procedures are followed and Group accounting policies are adhered to
  • Work with the data team in FP&A to improve data quality and flow
  • Identify data quality issues and work with the data team and help to resolve the issues
  • Coach team members in development opportunities required to develop.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You’ll be a self-starter, someone who is committed to continuous improvement and who is commercially savvy. To be successful in this role you will also need:

Essential:

  • To be a qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
  • Proven experience of problem solving and analysis techniques to define problems
  • Proven experience of successfully providing and implementing new ideas
  • The ability to prioritize and deal with multiple deadlines
  • To be able to clearly communicate compelling messages – verbal and written
  • Highly competent in Excel
  • Experience in line management with the desire to support and develop a team.
  • Experience in finance software tools that automate and improve data analysis.
