Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Placements Administrator to join the Professional Placements team working across the Faculties of Health, Psychology and Social Care and Education.

In this role, you will deliver a high quality, responsive and professional service to academic and professional services colleagues.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build on his or her existing administrative experience. You will take responsibility for an area of work, as well as working on meeting the team’s objectives, and will be able to make an active contribution to achieving the best placement experience for our students. Specifically, you will take sole responsibility for the organisation of placements for specific programmes within the Faculties, acting as the key point of contact for those areas of responsibility and providing advice and guidance to academic staff, placement providers and students in relation to placements. You will also be involved in servicing meetings and improving IT systems, and will contribute to the work of the wider team.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have experience of working in an administrative capacity, ideally within Higher Education, with demonstrable communication and prioritisation skills. You will have excellent organisational skills, be experienced in prioritising your own workload to meet set objectives and deadlines and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the provision of excellent customer service within the University. Educated to at least GCSE (or equivalent) level, you should have a sound working knowledge of MS Office, a strong focus on customer service and the ability to prioritise your own work and to plan-ahead. Building effective working relationships with academic colleagues and external contacts requires candidates to have excellent communication skills and be skilled in planning and organising. You will also have a high standard of literacy so that you can produce minutes and communicate effectively with students and staff in writing. Proactive team players who take a flexible approach to achieving results will be excellent candidates for this post.
