Job Description
  • Billing including preparation of occasional statute bills
  •  Preparing daily banking and allocating funds received
  •  Assisting departments with matter ledger enquiries (including dealing residual balances and matter closures)
  •  Inter account transfers
  •  Arranging payments via internet banking or cheque
  •  Code and check purchase invoices
  •  Check and reconcile supplier statements and resolve any queries
  •  Deal with purchase ledger enquiries
  • Filing of invoices and statements
  •  Process and pay staff expenses
  •  Cash collection including payment chasing/credit control
  •  Prepare monthly company credit card journal
  •  Managing petty cash including monthly reconciliation
  •  Daily bank reconciliations
  •  Assisting with producing financial and management reports as and when required
  •  Any other task as reasonably required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Three years experience in a similar accounts role
  •  5 good GCSE including Maths and English (A-C)
  •  Strong communication, team-working and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to priorities and manage a busy workload within a high-volume environment
  •  Excellent keyboard / IT skills – particularly in Excel
  •  Self-motivated problem-solver, able to escalate matters as and when appropriate
  •  Attention to detail and pride in own work
  •  Professional attitude
  •  Flexible and dependable
  •  Excellent time management
  • Awareness of sensitivities around working with confidential data
  • Preferred Knowledge/Skills 
  • Worked in a legal environment
  •  Understanding of legal terminology
