Job Description

The group has several individual specialist companies, all trading separately, and this role effectively takes on financial responsibility for two of them. You’ll manage two independent finance teams, working closely with the MD’s of each, and with a firm reporting line to the Group Finance Director.

The combined turnover is circa £50m to £60m and although they work side by side on some construction projects, they often work separately taking on complex engineering projects for their clients.

Ultimately, the ability to manage two different teams, but under one group umbrella, is crucial for this role to work. They’ll be lots of crossover but you’ll be expected to act, essentially, as the Finance Lead for both at once. They both have experienced, settled finance teams meaning the day to day financial management is taken care of. You’ll come in and offer leadership, support and mentoring to ensure the teams are as equipped as they need to be.

Due to the uniqueness of the construction sector and how it works from a financial aspect, relevant experience is a must. Ideally, you’ll have five to ten year’s experience in a Finance Lead role for a company in the construction or civil engineering sector, plus the relevant formal qualifications.
