Job Description
  • Contributing to the production of financial reports in accordance with Trust procedures and timetables.
  • Budget statement reconciliation and analysis.
  • Investigating variances and making any necessary adjustments. Identifying data processing errors and making corrective changes.
  • Manipulating income and expenditure data for forecasting and budget setting exercises.
  • Validation of new spend and involvement in business cases.
  • Active engagement with budget holders and other Trust colleagues is paramount to being successful in this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make use of the various sub-systems to prepare and present accurate and clear information.
  • Record of delivering to tight deadlines and ability to priorities workload.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to communicate clearly the results of such analysis.
  • Ability to analyses and present complex and large data.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to show attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
  • Willingness to take on and learn new skills, and to participate in project work.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and tax principles
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of clients
  • A professional and proactive approach to work
