Develop and deliver short- and long-term goals of the department.
Responsible for finance stewardship and member of various committees.
Responsible for all accounting, finance operation, finance reporting, external audit and investment aspects of the company.
Design and implement all policies and frameworks around finance controls, reporting and investment functions, from front to middle and back office, in adherence to both regulatory and group requirements.
Key interface in all banking relationships for corporate banking, treasury and investment needs.
Actively participate in the key initiatives of the company and provide finance and investment inputs to support decision making.
Work with various departments to actively resolve emerging issues.
Keep abreast of developments in accounting, regulatory and group requirements, plan accordingly and prepare the department to be change ready.
Develop and maintain a well-structured finance and investment department to support the business and comply with all statutory, regulatory, group and company requirements.
Train, guide and develop team members.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Certified accountants or equivalent (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Strong experience in financial control within the Insurance industry - essential
Good working knowledge of system in the UK.
Excellent planning, organization and change management skills.
Degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business.
Finance and auditing background, preferably with financial planning and analysis experience.
