Job Description
- Develop and deliver short- and long-term goals of the department.
- Responsible for finance stewardship and member of various committees.
- Responsible for all accounting, finance operation, finance reporting, external audit and investment aspects of the company.
- Design and implement all policies and frameworks around finance controls, reporting and investment functions, from front to middle and back office, in adherence to both regulatory and group requirements.
- Key interface in all banking relationships for corporate banking, treasury and investment needs.
- Actively participate in the key initiatives of the company and provide finance and investment inputs to support decision making.
- Work with various departments to actively resolve emerging issues.
- Keep abreast of developments in accounting, regulatory and group requirements, plan accordingly and prepare the department to be change ready.
- Develop and maintain a well-structured finance and investment department to support the business and comply with all statutory, regulatory, group and company requirements.
- Train, guide and develop team members.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Certified accountants or equivalent (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Strong experience in financial control within the Insurance industry - essential
- Good working knowledge of system in the UK.
- Excellent planning, organization and change management skills.
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business.
- Finance and auditing background, preferably with financial planning and analysis experience.
