Job Description
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence to improve the quality and efficiency of the process that sit within that control environment
- Reducing variation and embedding changes to enable the generation of accurate data in our financial systems
- Driving, owning, and embedding the changes of process and supporting the culture required to achieve reduction in variation across the end to end financial process set
- Working with Global Process owners to consider the effectiveness and implement the improvements to end to end processes
- Translation of Group requirements and design and implementation of plans to deliver right first time, accurate responses
- Maintenance and periodic review of the Delegated Authority Matrix
- The smooth running of the External audit process and the minimization of audit issues
- Undertaking ad-hoc projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Qualified accountant with experience of working in a large and complex environment
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement will be considered favorably
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and adoption of Serco's values and ethics.
- Experience of coordinating external audit cycles for a large business.
- Experience of working with a shared service center and
- Experience of delivering change across a multi stakeholder matrix environment Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards and industry best practices and accounting skills
- Process and operational excellence implementations and understanding of continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of finance systems and standardized processes
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to influence
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Able to interact at all levels and adapt to different cultures.
- Able to work at a strategic level, to pursue purpose with the ability to manage the detail when required.
- Able to influence when recommending a course of action and build consensus
- Must have a flexible approach with an ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Continually seeks improved and more efficient methods of working .
