Responsible for the financial accounting of one or two of the schools in the Group.
Ensuring that fees and expenses are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.
Working with the admission teams in the Schools, raising tuition fees and invoicing parents by specified dates.
To prepare direct debit collections every month
To monitor the collection of fees and disbursements, in the recovery and collection of these amounts.
To ensure Finance deadlines are met such as billing and supplier payments
Prepare and maintain the forecasts and work with schools to ensure adherence to budgets
Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliation of control accounts, and analysis of variances between budget and actuals
Ensure the team communicate with current and future parents re fee payments, responding to queries as appropriate
Accountability for the billing ledger ensuring that it is maintained in good order, ensuring that all transactions are appropriately recorded.
Ensuring that fees are sent in a timely and appropriate manner and Direct Debits are processed monthly
To ensure that the Finance team chase and recover any outstanding school and lunch fees, or any other additional fees
To oversee the reconciliation of trip income and costs
To monitor payments to suppliers
To manage balance sheet areas such as fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments for month end
Ensure that processes to manage the end of the school year activity are in place and adhered to joiners and leavers are processed and their deposits refunded
To ensure that the Group is up-to-date with Financial, Regulatory and Taxation changes.
Work with HR and payroll to ensure accurate recording of employment costs
Assist the Group Finance Manager with the annual accounts and supporting schedules for audit and liaising with auditors as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA Part qualified or equivalent, you will possess strong technical financial and accounting skills, be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong IT skills in Management Information Systems and Accounting software are essential and experience in Sage 200, and advanced Excel skills are desirable but not essential.
