Job Description
- Take the lead on the management and compliance of all grants under your area of responsibility, reporting on all financial matters to specific programmer donors in a timely fashion.
- Full responsibility for monitoring project expenditure against budgets, investigating variances and reforecasting as required.
- Play a pivotal role in the preparation of budgets for all new international programmers, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Business partner with the international finance teams, challenging attitudes, updating budgets according to programmer changes and dealing with queries as required.
- Undertake international travel to various locations to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders on programmer-specific matters.
- Produce monthly management accounts for internal use, highlighting margin obtained and outstanding funding where appropriate.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Qualified as an accountant or be a finalist still studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Exceptional communication skills, an ambitious flare and the desire to learn new things quickly.
- A background in, or a passion for the international development sector.
- Experience preparing complex reports in a demanding environment.
- Strong Excel skills and sound technical accounting knowledge.
