Job Description
  • Work with the Assistant Controller to deliver accounting for funding vehicles and consolidated levels.
  • Aid junior team members across month end to ensure accurate delivery of results.
  • Support audit and management reviews.
  • Produce consolidated substantiation pack to support balances, coordinating activities within the team to deliver the monthly activities and investigating and resolving reconciling items with team members.
  • Undertaking balance sheet substantiation work on complex balances.
  • Escalating and coordination of deep dive activities on issues identified during balance sheet substantiation work.
  • Update and maintain procedure documents and Accounting policies for internal finance procedures.
  • Provide cover for other members of the Finance team.
  • Assist with project and business initiative activities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) 'or’ QBE accountant will be considered providing appropriate experience can be demonstrated.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and to tight deadlines.
  • Works effectively as a team to develop junior team members and support Assistant Controller.
  • You will "take ownership" of the responsibilities allocated to you.
  • Strong IT skills, including complex formulae in Excel.
  • Ability to work within established internal controls and maintain a high standard of quality across all tasks.
  • Ability to form productive relationships at all levels.
  • Forward thinking, seeking efficiencies and improvements in activities.
  • Previous experience in delivery of financial results is desirable.
  • Experience of working within Financial Services is advantageous but not essential.
