Job Description

A well established, friendly and supportive accountancy firm in North London are looking to hire a Bookkeeper to join their team

Essentially the role will be to work within a team with the expectation to do the following:

• Prepare VAT returns for multiple businesses including restaurants, wholesalers of textiles and furniture, fashion designers, and digital marketers
• Reconcile sales and purchase ledgers
• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts
• Prepare final accounts up to and including trial balance stage
• Prepare tax returns including all workings
• Work directly with the accountants to finalise accounts for companies, sole traders and partnerships

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Essential Requirements:

• Excellent double entry bookkeeping skills
• Great knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail and focus on getting the job done
• Good ability to work within a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Liaise with clients and request all the information needed to complete the work

Other requirements but not essential:

• Part qualified in AAT
• Knowledge of VT Transactions
• Ideally would have some experience working in an accountancy practice
