Key responsibilities
- Assign tariff codes to items
- Input and maintain tariff codes for components and assemblies on the ERP system
- Arrange delivery of goods via land, sea or air carrier for import of goods
- Prior to despatch, check accuracy of all supplier shipping, packing specifications and documentation with relevant departments
- Prepare shipping and banking documentation, liaising with relevant external bodies.
- Track goods and keep relevant parties informed of status
- Check freight forwarders / transport company importation paperwork to ensure conformity with company records
- Return paperwork for rectification if required and ensure conformity with HMRC
- Obtain original documentation from haulier, shipping or airfreight agent (bills of lading etc.) to scan on to ERP system
- Create and maintain a documentation system to hold documentation for reference and inspection
