Job Description

Our aim is to support young people by providing a settled period of accommodation during which time staff can help them to develop their capacity, self-esteem and life skills to enable them to live independently in the community. We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our service and ensure support is given across all administrative functions and to enable the service to operate successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

The overall purpose of the Administrative Assistant post within a service is to ensure support is given across all administrative functions and to enable the service to operate successfully. This will include but not limited to filing, secretarial duties, data inputting and ordering stocks and supplies as required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understand and work within the Mission and Values of The Salvation Army Provide Administrative support for the service – including typing, use of word processor, data input, telephoning and filing. Provide help and support for staff members in their work with clients. Ensure that agreed administrative procedures are followed and that agreed controls are monitored Ensure the Life house has adequate stocks of all supplies and place orders in conjunction with Administrator. Work in line with all relevant legislation and guidelines to protect clients, colleagues, staff and visitors from abuse, accident or injury.
