Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•    Ownership and maintenance of group wide standard cost/bill of materials (BOM) data, for all own-manufactured and bought in goods
•    Periodic review and update of standard costs for each discrete business area
•    Validation of standard costs for all new and amended products
•    Monthly analysis and understanding of standard to actual BOM variances, including identification and correction of production costing errors
•    SAP production month end close process for all manufacturing plants
•    Completing works orders, business process allocation, distribution of stock differences, production order and cost collector settlement
•    Acting as lead finance business partner for cross functional new product development, from initial design through to launch
•    Production work centre set up and activity cost calculation
•    Constructively challenging operational business partners, working collaboratively to deliver the best possible results for the Group

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Strong academic qualifications  •    Qualified accountant – CIMA, ACA or ACCA •    Standard costing experience within a manufacturing environment  •    Advanced SAP knowledge and understanding could be an advantage (particularly production and financial modules) •    Comfortable working using own initiative or as part of a team, where there is a periodic need to share responsibilities and cover / support colleagues (e.g. peak activity periods or holidays)  •    Ability to work well with operational staff, and translate operational opportunities and issues into financial outputs •    An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise accordingly
