Duties:
Reconciling WIP (Work in Progress) Accounts
Producing monthly margin reports per house plot as well as reconciling management accounts
Preparing and processing monthly prepayments, accruals and journals
Reconciling balance sheet control accounts
Analysing overhead costs and reviewing against set budgets and discussing it with the budget holders
Posting cashbook and reconciling to nominal/ bank statements
Processing house sales, allocating cash & reconciling control accounts
Leading purchase/sale/cashbook ledgers
Day to day management of the accounts team, including appraisals, absence management, employee relations and recruitment of new members
Processing business expense / mileage claims
Processing credit card expenditure & reconcile to control accounts
Assist in the year end processes, auditing & budgeting
Understanding and improving accounting / finance controls and procedures
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified to ACCA/CIMA or in their final stage exams Experience in an Accountancy/ Financial role, ideally within a new build developer, surveying, building or construction business or similar Self-motivated, can work independently, as well as team player Computer-literate with strong excel skills Strong organisational skills and problem-solving ability Experience of using Microsoft NAV is benefitial
