Job Description

The IT and Digital Transformation Service are seeking an Information Systems Analyst to support and develop existing services to our clients. You must be a motivated, organised, excellent communicator with the proven ability to work to deadlines - individually and as part of a team.

You will be expected to improve and develop operational efficiency and service provision within client departments through the analysis, design, implementation and support of IT-based solutions (to include both software and hardware aspects). In addition, you will be expected to develop relationships with Council departments so as to understand business requirements and priorities.

Candidates qualified to Degree or HND level in a Computing or Business Systems related subject are considered desirable for this post. You should have demonstrable experience and skills in the following: Project Management; Business or Systems Analysis, Systems Design, Systems Development (e.g. integration, scripting or data extraction/import), Implementation, Support and/or Database Administration.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A working knowledge of one or more of the Council's corporate business systems would also be a distinct advantage including Civica PARIS and Civica EDM. Expertise in .Microsoft technologies, Oracle Citrix, Ingres, SQL, Java and Apache Tomcat would also be advantageous. Good communication skills in written and spoken English are essential and the ability to speak and write through the medium of Welsh would be desirable in assisting the Department to provide a bilingual service to clients.
