Job Description

The Role:
The post holder is a member of the Supply chain function and responsible for the sourcing and procurement of a wide range of materials and services at the lowest ultimate cost to meet production requirements in line with the company sales forecasts and strategies.
To manage the Purchasing function to provide high levels of internal/external service to all stakeholders.
To implement and maintain best in class buying strategies and processes; meeting KPI's for procurement, inventory, stock turn and component obsolescence across the business and third party processors.
Heading up the purchasing function in this stand alone role, the successful candidate will manage the end to end process within purchasing, covering all aspects from negotiation, supply chain management, PO raising and materials inbound supply.
Responsibilities within the role:
Be the company subject matter expert on all market conditions that may impact price stability, e.g. wheat, oil, kraftliner prices, currency fluctuations and possible material shortages.
Report monthly price records and any changes to senior management team and ensure price files and reports are kept up to date.
Maintain all necessary computer/paperwork procedures to comply with auditors/insurance assessors and the controlled running of the department.
Report preparation and project cost analysis for project analysis and presentation.
Monitor contributory market factors to develop purchase strategies with Supply Chain Manager to ensure purchases are made at optimum market levels.
Work with the Supply Chain Manager to review and validate all purchasing processes and reports.
Managing a spend of cir £15m
Driving licence.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A strong background within FMCG manufacturing (food or non-food) within a retail supply chain environment: Experience of contract negotiation essential. Experience of working globally preferred. Exceptional negotiation and people relationship skills essential. Strong working knowledge of inventory planning and MRP systems, as well as operational and computer systems management. Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) capabilities required. Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills required.
