Great Bear is a successful business with ambitious growth aspirations. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic . You will support the Business Development Team in its core activities of promoting Great Bear; prospecting for potential customers; quoting and winning new business. An awareness of the UK 3PL market or logistics in general may be beneficial, but is not essential. You will possess excellent IT skills (with a focus on MS Office); have analytical capability and be able to plan and manage your own workload across multiple projects in order to support the BD Team in its deadline commitments and overall objectives. You will be comfortable communicating with our senior team up to Board Level.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate projects with colleagues in order to meet deadlines and objectives
Analyse customer requirements including tender documents or quotation requests and provide executive summaries to the team
Help plan and coordinate project and tender responses with the project team, including being a key liaison with operations; central and wider Group colleagues
Work with the project team to develop “Win Themes” and robust proposals that are compelling for our prospective customers
Obtain quotes for sub-contracting any non-core services which form part of tender scope
Prepare tender or quotation response documentation and presentations
Assist in the development of new business prospecting strategies
Work with the team and Group Marketing function to develop appropriate marketing materials that support our agreed objectives
Maintain an up to date knowledge of developments in the industry through membership of a professional body (e.g. CILT), attending industry events and training courses
Support the implementation of new contracts where necessary
There will be a requirement for short term assignments within the UK to support new business implementations and tenders which could involve staying away from home during the week.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
An enthusiastic, personable individual with a desire to “learn-the-ropes” and contribute to the success of the Business Development Team and wider business You will be professional and flexible with the ability to adapt your pro-active approach to suit the requirements of the task at hand Have the self-assurance to leverage support from other departments e.g. IT, operations, HR, facilities management, to ensure appropriate engagement in solutions design and the tender process Be able to write business documents in a clear and concise manner Technically proficient using advanced Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Word functionality. An ability to manipulate data in Excel would be an advantage Confident communicating with Senior Management, Key Stakeholders and customers up to and including Board Level Capable of working under pressure to meet critical deadlines and complete objectives
