Job Description

We are seeking an HCPC Registered Senior Biomedical Scientist with relevant experience in diagnostic Mycology, to join the Mycology Reference Unit , based at the University Hospital of Wales. Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge, well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to lead and support individual and team working. An understanding and experience of UKAS ISO15189 Quality Management System is essential.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience of day to day laboratory managment, including HR, and previous experience in H&S, Quality or training is an advantage.

The successful candidate will undertake training in all aspects of diagnostic Mycology laboratory work, and would be responsible for supervising staff and performing Senior BMS duties as described in the JD.
