Job Description

The role of Director of Finance will involve leading the Finance, Corporate Planning, Commercial and Facilities functions across the organisation. As part of the Leadership team and Director group you will be accountable for the efficient and effective use of resources within the organisation. You will lead on the financial, commercial, planning and reporting framework providing direction to uphold commercial value and to fulfill company goals.

Responsibilities will include:
*Working closely with the Executive Director of Finance & Corporate Services and the Corporate Services Management Committee to ensure cohesive leadership
*Working closely with the Executive Committee and Senior Leaders across financial and operational planning effectiveness
*Lead funding and budget allocation discussions both internally and with external parties
*Be accountable for an effective value for money commercial framework and processes
*Be accountable for compliance with internal and external controls and governance, including continuous improvement to align with the organisation's strategy
*Lead and take responsibility for the functional areas within the Directorate, assuring the effective recruitment, retention, development and management of staff at all levels
*Be accountable for external relationships with governance bodies
*Advanced knowledge of risk assurance frameworks and risk management and controls
*Competence and confidence in leading on public sector audit, commercial and other governance requirements

The key criteria stipulated by the client to be successful are as follows:
-Qualified Accountant with proved experience within an agile organisation
-Proven track record at a strategic finance level as part of the executive leadership team
-Demonstrable experience within the Public Sector or Government body
- Wider Corporate Services responsibility as well as strategic finance exposure
-A commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Qualified Accountant with proved experience within an agile organisation -Proven track record at a strategic finance level as part of the executive leadership team -Demonstrable experience within the Public Sector or Government body - Wider Corporate Services responsibility as well as strategic finance exposure -A commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
