Job Description

Financial Reporting

  • Preparation of the Group financial statements and disclosures for issue to the stock exchange and lead the preparation of the annual report
  • Managing the external audit engagements of the Group financial statements to ensure that the Group audit is successfully completed
  • Responsible for the preparation of the statutory financial statements, coordinating the process with the business unit financial accounting teams and managing the external audit engagement

Technical Accounting Support

  • Support the business on strategic initiatives, researching technical accounting matters, providing advice and guidance on the appropriate accounting treatments, which ensures that the Group’s financial position is maximised and aligned to the financial objectives
  • Responsible for impact assessment of new and emerging accounting issues and disclosures

Financial Systems

  • Responsible for maintaining the group consolidation system, leasing system and share base payments system effectively leveraging reporting capability and driving enhancements across the Group
  • Establish and maintain a streamlined, system-based solution which enables the efficient co-ordination and consolidation of Group statutory financial statements
  • Managing end-to-end projects /change implementation within well-defined timelines and budget covering all facets of implementation

The Group Financial Reporting Manager is a key role in the financial control team, leading the external financial reporting and technical advisory for the Group and including responsibility for the Group Financial reporting systems

As you would expect, you should have strong analytical skills with the ability to research, understand and resolve a wide range of finance issues.  Also essential is your ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities, with a determination to achieve specific goals.

It’s not all about systems, however, you will liaise with people from different divisions and organisations, so a strong leadership presence and ability to communicate effectively is essential.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You should be a trained Chartered Accountant, ideally of degree calibre, with extensive post qualification experience and have strong IFRS knowledge. You should also be an intermediate-advanced user of Excel.
