The ideal candidate will have some experience within a practice who has a basic knowledge of the processes and duties carried out. You will have an eagerness to learn and to progress within the company as you will eventually build your own portfolio of clients. You will a confident and effective communicator with a professional telephone manner.
Duties will include:
Supporting a busy accounting team of 10 with accounts and administrative duties
Preparing journal entries
Preparing VAT returns and tax returns
Preparation of monthly financial statements
Running year end closings
Account and bank reconciliations
Preparing budges and cashflow forecasts
Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
Processing expenses
Communicating with clients on their needs and supporting any enquiries
General admin that may be required to support the business
Building a client portfolio of your own
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ideally some experience of working in practice but not essential Must have some accounting experience in a professional environment GCSE Math and English of C and above Strong IT skills – MS office packages and ideally experience in Xero, Sage, Caseware and/or Taxcalc is desirable Strong communication skills Willingness to learn new skills Hands on and hardworking
