Job Description

Help strengthen our System Administration Team as an IT System Administrator in Manchester

You’ll be joining a highly skilled and motivated IT team soon undergoing a massive expansion as it gears up to deliver a huge and complex business transformation project.

Taking ownership of and be the technical authority for specific systems and technologies, ensuring the continuous and smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, including out of hours cover and support for critical systems.

In particular to support and administer business applications, software, infrastructure, network, security and authentications systems, ensuring the highest level of data security is applied at all times.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting and managing our IT systems to deliver Electronic Monitoring services to tight SLA’s, providing out of hours support for major incidents where required.
  • Coordinating and supervising all third parties carrying out work upon company IT and Telecommunications systems
  • Assisting and supporting all users of the IT and telecommunications systems used by the company, primarily as three-line support, but as 1st and 2nd line as required
  • Supporting the day to day running of the monitoring suite of software and associated systems.
  • Ensuring all software used by the business is licensed or fully compliant with EULAs
  • Ensuring optimum operation of EMS systems through the use of daily checks, procedures and administration in line with availability and performance specifications

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Microsoft SCCM and SCOM or equivalent; enabling EUC build and support
  • Web Sense (Triton Force point)
  • McAfee Antivirus (including DLP)
  • BeCrypt (FDE) & token management
  • Clear swift secure email gateway
  • Backup exec

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid Microsoft AD and Exchange 2013 administration background. Ideally experience with SQL – ability to create stored procedures and carry out maintenance tasks. Good PowerShell knowledge, ability to create scripts for AD/Exchange tasks. Experience working with ITIL change processes, logic and business minded. Extensive experience of large server estates and be skilled and/or qualified in core infrastructure technologies, primarily Directory Services, MS Exchange (2013 and above) and End User Computing, but also Virtualization, SQL, networking, Security, content management systems, mail filtering, endpoint protection, VoIP, MS Dynamics and Scripting. Knowledge of Intel server and back office platforms. Able to work flexibly and undertake on-call activities. Ability to priorities, organize, problem solve. ITIL Foundation. Familiar with project management and change methodologies.
