Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to join a niche organisation seeking a qualified accountant who's role will be to support the Investment Manager by assessing the financial viability of investing in a wide variety of steel related businesses.

As the investment funding analyst, you will be responsible for appraising, negotiating and implementing investment funding to businesses and to assist the teams in implementing their policy of economic regeneration.

Accountabilities

Within the role, your responsibilities will include:

• critically appraising investment opportunities.
• managing a portfolio of investments.
• providing sensible business support to client companies
• acting as Investment Committee secretary
• deputising for the Investment Manager as and when appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A good commercial awareness and an understanding of strategic and financial matters Experience of or/and an interest in identifying and assessing investment opportunities An accountancy qualification i.e. ACCA, CIMA The ability to work flexibly with a strong team working ethic Great communication skills in order to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders An inquisitive nature in order to interrogate business plans Passionate about supporting small business and making a difference to our communities
