Job Description

What Will The Role Involve?

The role forms part of the wider WSA (Water Services Agreement) Framework Contract Management Team which is responsible for the delivery of cost and quality in line with requirements and ensuring exceptional safety and operational performance, and full compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and contractual requirements. The team contains roles in a range of areas including supplier relationship management, commercial management, strategy and assurance.

As our WSA Commercial Auditor, you will safeguard and manage risk in relation to the WSA contract value of up to £90m and to maximise value within the contract to ensure maximum efficiencies and compliance are recognised. You will drive sustainable performance in the delivery of the WSA contract through a structured audit programme.

 

You’ll contribute to the delivery of the Operational Planning & Resilience strategy / business plan to deliver excellent operational and customer service performance. You’ll be expected to drive sustainable improvements in partner performance by improving ways of working across the whole end to end Service Delivery “supply chain” from work promotion to planning to execution and completion.

You’ll be expected to undertake specific audits, process reviews and investigations in the assigned area of responsibility in accordance with the WSA Audit schedule and contribute to the development of a new internal WSA audit plan.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential Experience of supporting and embedding change and can influence and drive the right culture and behaviours. Significant post qualification experience of internal or external audit Extensive knowledge of internal audit A good understanding of how Yorkshire Water wide risk management systems, applications & processes are deployed Experience in investigations regarding irregularity and fraud Ability to develop, maintain & leverage value from an extensive internal & eternal network, particularly with senior managers Good communications skills, both oral & written Must have a professional Accountancy qualification i.e. AAT or ATT Desirable Experience of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment. Previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors. Membership of a professional chartered body (e.g. Accounting, Engineering, Internal Audit)
