Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Role will primarily be to support Regional Manager in providing cover in key locations during times of holidays, sickness absence and key trading periods 
  • Key responsibility in store will be to provide sales cover (will involve actively selling on the shop floor)
  • Assess customer experience in store and feedback constructively to the Regional Manager thoughts and ideas to improve.
  • Competent in solving problems and decision making
  • Other responsibilities will be to provide coaching to store colleagues during time in store, undertake day to day administration duties, observing behaviours of store teams and to ensure general standard of display / promotional alignment in store are in line with company requirements
  • Will be required to provide detailed reports to their RSM on store cover visits, identifying key areas of concern / improvement with ideas around how these concerns can be addressed, and timescale
  • Role will involve spending time in challenged stores and to undertake activities to address performance issues. This will be outlined by the RSM in advance although the use of initiative whilst in store will be a key part of making the role a success.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Reports will be required to be written for the RSM detailing findings in store, actions completed, and additional actions required to address performance
  • Good understanding of business processes and systems
  • Evidence of strong historical performance within the business

  • FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Retail experience
  • Strong numeracy skills ranging from interpretation of retail data
  • Strong team player, with a desire to ensure synergy within own store

 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
PERSONAL SKILLS Full driving licence required Must own you own car Flexible working – 5 from any 7 days Travel outside of working hours across a geographical region Staying away from home will be required Managerial experience preferred but not essential A leader who can inspire a diverse team in a dynamic environment. Ability to identify areas of change, recommend future actions and manage implementation and feedback to the Regional Sales Manager when required. A transparent management style with clear, open and honest communication. A positive, can do approach and quest for continual improvement. Ability to assist the Store Manager to lead a team and a natural talent to give constructive feedback with the aim to improve performance. As weekend and evening trading is essential to the business, flexible hours and frequent evening and weekend work are required. Regular daily / weekly meetings with direct reports in the absence of the Store Manager. The post will involve travel from time to time to attend meetings Provide absence cover for direct reports and fellow Assistant/Store Managers as and when required. Essential / Desirable Skills: Minimum 3 years relevant experience A strong, influential communicator Experience and knowledge of leading a team, including the natural ability to motivate, Coach & coach and mentor staff to maximise results Proactive, self motivated and career focused Understanding of business operations and systems
