For those who have recently qualified in Practice, or a few years post qualified, this would be a great opportunity, especially for those who have qualified within a Small / Mid-tier sized firm, given the hands on nature of the role. The role will have a strong emphasis on accounts prep., management accounting, financial modelling and liaising at Board level, whilst working with an array of senior stakeholders. As Finance Manager, the role will provide development opportunities to work on individual projects and will be client facing.
Core areas of responsibility within the role will include:
· Preparation of management accounts together with variance analysis against budget and underlying financial model for use by senior management and shareholders
· Attend and present at Board meetings with senior Project Managers and offer analysis that will drive the projects forward
· Ongoing forecasting and financial modelling on key projects
· Preparation of annual stat accounts
· Liaising with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that any areas of uncertainty thrown up by the project review are clarified
Key criteria:
· Practice Qualified Accountant, with strong technical skills
· Sound knowledge of preparing statutory accounts (essential)
· Excellent communication skills
· Career minded and driven
· Experience of preparing tax computations would be helpful but not essential, as would management accounting and financial modelling experience
