The role of the Administrator is to provide support and assistance to the HR team at the head office of TVS in Chorley, duties are varied but are mainly focused around paperwork relating to security clearance to work on MoD projects. This role will work closely with the recruitment function in HR and may also include duties relating to the TVS recruitment process. This is an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Track, issue, chase and complete all the paperwork associated with Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels for more information
Issue forms and information to potential candidates
Update internal applicant tracking system (ATS) and security spreadsheet
Chase candidates with outstanding forms after a defined period of time
Liaise with candidates on queries
Check Security Check (SC) status with partner security body
Once completed forms are received back, check all information is correct
Request employment or character references
Once forms are fully completed, send to partner security body and track on ATS and spreadsheet
Liaise with partner security body and candidates regarding any additional queries or information required until BPSS is granted
Ensure compliance with UK Border Agency Rules relating to recruitment from overseas
Scanning, photocopying and filing
Populating the ATS system with candidate details and obtaining GDPR consent
Ensuring all data is accurate and up to date

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Math and English. Excellent organizational, administrative and communication skills (both verbal and written). Excellent PC skills in particular Excel and other MS Office packages. Accurate with particular attention to detail. Ability to priorities, work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure. A flexible and adaptable approach to work. A willingness to phone and contact candidates and companies to obtain information relating to the right to work in the UK, employment history and other personal information. Tact and discretion, when dealing with confidential information. Previous experience in a similar security role is advantageous but not essential.
