Job Description

The main duties would be:

  • To deliver key elements of organisations Internal Communications Strategy, including business as usual (BAU) and project activities, as directed by the Senior Internal Communications Manager
  • Develop and implement internal communications and engagement plans to support colleagues working remotely
  • Develop and deliver organisation-wide online events and webinars to support business needs
  • Create presentations for the Executive Management Team to communicate key business activity
  • Provide a professional editing and writing service
  • Provide professional communications advice to other departments and programmes throughout the business
  • Working closely with People and Change (HR) colleagues, develop ways to communicate change effectively and continually identify opportunities to support Organisational Development activity by delivering simple messages or complex information as required
  • Working within a project team on a specific business area, champion the role, and early consideration, of communications and engagement and be a strong voice during project planning
  • Deliver professional advice on channel use for specific project needs based on clear understanding of the effective ways to communicate and engage with different stakeholders and customers
  • Provide insight into how to develop the organisations communications and engagement across the business and at project level and continuously look for, and articulate, ways of improving delivery, work flow and execution of campaign elements

Essential

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and using those relationships to ensure delivery;
  • Ability to analyse a wide range of information and provide evidence-based recommendations on action;
  • Ability to negotiate and set an agreed course of action, having considered a range of options, risk and impacts and manage diverse views and opinions;
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage conflicting and competing demands on your time whilst delivering to tight deadlines in a busy, change environment;
  • Experience of working in a digital or programme environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a commercial environment or in working with service level agreements and contracts;
  • Experience of working across government departments.
