Job Description

The successful applicant will work as a member of the operational team dealing with the distribution of funds received from the recovery of PPI related assets held on bankruptcy cases. The team work to demanding but achievable targets in a busy office environment. The work requires a reasonable level of numeracy skills with our aim being to start team members on straightforward tasks with the option of progressing to casework. After a period of consolidation competent case officers will be introduced to more complex cases.

Our Business Administrator Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Indexing and electronic filing of post into the PPI team
  • Managing a case load of bankruptcy and partnership cases.
  • Handling telephone and written queries in relation to the cases.
  • Dealing with insolvents, insolvency practitioners, local courts and creditors including large financial institutions;
  • Assist in preparing cases for distribution and in distributing funds to creditors;
  • Researching information and making decisions based on legislation, protocols and procedures.
  • Carrying out regular case reviews to conclude instructions;
  • Updating computerized records;
  • Identifying and prepare cases for closing;
  • Providing general clerical support; and
  • With experience, you may deal with more complex enquiries or take on more specialist work related to your department.
  • The result of these key activities will be to achieve your monthly target and to contribute to the wider PPI team targets.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this apprenticeship you will understand the commitment needed to complete an apprenticeship, have a motivation for learning and a can-do attitude. You should be engaged and seek guidance and support whenever appropriate.

You must have excellent organizational skills and good time management. You should be resilient and able to learn from experience. Through your ability to think ahead and your eye for detail, you will be able to anticipate problems and have excellent problem-solving skills.

You can work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve a team goal and can organize and priorities your own work and tasks to meet tight targets and deadlines. You should have the ability to work unsupervised and take initiative, progressing work accurately and in line with instructions.
