Job Description

A background in software development would be beneficial, however practical experience and knowledge of the following would be particularly advantageous:

*Incident, Problem, Change and Release management.
*Technical knowledge and administration skills in MS Internet Information Services (IIS).
*Knowledge of XML.
*Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
*Practical experience in monitoring a database and developing database maintenance plans, particularly with SQL server.
*Practical experience in monitoring and configuration of a variety of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) e.g. SOAP/REST.
*Development and execution of database queries, in particular Data Manipulation Language (DML) and Data Definition Language (DDL) e.g. T-SQL.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

*Provide guidance and technical advice to colleagues and other Staff across Wales. *Provide advice and support to the third parties connecting and using the system. *Contribute to the development of best practice guidelines. *Monitoring system health, responding to and investigating to resolution underlying operational issues. *Deployment and configuration of system releases. *Provide information analysis and reporting. *Customer / Consumer liaison. *Operational / technical support of the service.
