Job Description

Reporting to the Finance Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the production of the monthly financial accounts and reporting requirements for Mission Systems Devonport contracts, along with contributing to the businesses forecasting and adding ongoing financial support to the operational project teams.
You will provide thorough analysis of results and regular reviewing of key variances vs budgets/forecasts, along with discussing the projects financial performance with key stakeholders, including the Project Managers, Head of Business and the Head of Finance when required.
The role includes being the primary Accountant for the allocated contracts, including attending monthly and quarterly contract reviews led by the Programme Lead and producing quarterly reports presented at board level.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that all inputs to the monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting and forecasting requirements are completed on-time and to the highest standard.

• The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous experience in a management accounting role Engineering or manufacturing industry experience is desirable, but not essential Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Intermediate Excel skills (e.g. Lookups and Pivot tables)
