Job Description

An IT Support Engineer with strong operating systems installation and configuration skills is required by a leading Managed Service Provider based in Cardiff, South Wales. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a MSP and will ideally be Microsoft Certified, but training is provided along with a salary of up to £27,500.

The IT Support Engineer will offer previous Helpdesk/IT Support (telephone/remote support) experience and preferably Microsoft certified MCP or VCP. You will have strong working knowledge of Wintel Client/Server Systems as well as Firewalls and Network Security Technologies.

Ideally you will have experience of Hyper-V, VMWare, SAN, NAS as well as O365 Administration / Migrations. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including experience with routing, VLAN, VPN, Wireless as well as VOIP telephony systems.

The IT Support Engineer will install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications as well as monitor and maintain computer systems and networks. You will talk clients through troubleshooting processes either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.

You will establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Deploying and supporting Windows Operating Systems, virtual and physical - Helpdesk/IT Support (telephone/remote support) experience - A strong customer service focus - Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport is essential for this role.
