As the appointed Projects Engineer you will provide support to the engineering department in all areas relating to NPI, Administration, new enquires and communication between Customer and Suppliers. Working directly for the Engineering Projects Manager, you will also provide support for other departments within the company. The Project Engineers main duties will include:
Key responsibilities:
Project Administration - All project files are kept updated and contain all relevant information relating to the project, including maintenance of project files held on Winman ERP system
APQP development - Liaising technical requirements with overseas suppliers, assessment of supplier process controls. Validation of supplier sample approval submissions.
PPAP / Quality Documentation submissions to customers
NPI Planning - Plan the NPI schedule for the sampling of products from our including shipment to our worldwide customer base.
Sample and Phase out Analysis - Control of stock during NPI including weekly submission of orders to purchasing.
Internal production buy off - Prepare and submit all relevant documentation to enable internal production buy off from all relevant departments, i.e. production operations, purchasing, accounts, quality etc…
Commercial / Project Budgets - Ensure that all project related activities are controlled within the project budget, including raising purchasing requisitions, ensuring that all customer invoicing are submitted on time, and all expenditure/income logged.
Continual support to the Quality Dept - in all issues relating to projects and where applicable.
The package:
Salary range of 23-30k (Dependant on experience)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or HNC in Mechanical Engineering. Experience working within an electro-mechanical design environment is highly desirable. Candidates with HND or HNC with considerable experience of a mechanical design are invited to apply for the position. A demonstrable understanding of engineering materials their properties and selection criteria. Experience of 2D drafting, preferably AutoCAD. Experience with 3D surface modelling, preferably Pro Engineer or Solid Works. A sound understanding of DFM/DFA techniques. Development of their engineering skills in a culture of continuous improvement.
