Job Description

To assist with the management of supplier approval.

To manage the complaints systems used on site and to monitor the speed of return of sample reports from the Laboratory to ensure prompt reply to retailers or head office, (this task includes arranging for collections of samples and ensuring accurate letters are produced and promptly sent.

To  re order acid and caustic as required in the absence of the Quality Improvement Leader 

To manage the receipt and storage of certificates of analysis for all raw materials on a weekly basis, which includes liaising with the Goods inwards staff and scanning certificates onto the SAP system                        

To assist with general administrative duties such as sending self audit forms to suppliers and managing the tracking systems currently in place.   To participate in third party audits when this data is being reviewed.

General Responsibilities

  • Understand and take an active role in lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
  • You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
  • The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture.
  • Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
  • When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree or HND in Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline preferred, or relevant experience. Experience of SAP, CPD, HAMILTON GRANT or equivalent systems is preferable. Generic IT Systems experience, ie. Excel, Word etc. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to produce reports. Ability to deal with people at all levels within Princes, our  supply chain and customer base. Good planning and organisation skills In depth understanding of all retailers specification formats and be well versed in use of their electronic databases (e.g. M&S FIND, Tesco TTL, Sainsbury EVOLVE, Morrison’s M CREATE and Asda ASPECT).
