Junior Accountant - c.£21k + Study Support - Bushey, Herts

Main Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for preparing VAT returns and management accounts for a select group of limited company clients

Ensuring all VAT returns and management accounts are prepared within deadlines

Assisting the book keeper and other team members where required

Responding to inbound client queries via telephone/email

Providing proactive outbound advise to clients both new and existing

Assistance with limited company payroll where required

Updating IRIS practice management to ensure that all jobs are allocated to team members

Dealing with the set up of all new clients including company formation, bank applications, VAT registration and ensuring we have online authority.

Filing on IRIS Opendocs

Updating all databases with new client information or a change to client information, the systems commonly used are IRIS opendocs, CRM and IRIS

Carrying out online filing for company records, including Annual Returns, Company Accounts, Company Tax Returns and VAT Returns

Contacting clients over the phone to ensure they meet there required deadlines

Ensuring that the administration process are always being carried out as efficiently as possible and are always documented

Assisting other team members where required

Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Ideally you will have experience of working in a practice dealing with small businesses or be studying towards your AAT.
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good computer skills and basic understanding of accounting practice software preferably IRIS and IRIS opendocs not necessary as full training will be provided
• Ability to work as part of a team yet self motivated
• Excellent organisation skills with proven experience of working to deadlines
• Excellent multi'-tasking ability
