Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The shipping clerk will be responsible for:

  • Communicating with customers and suppliers
  • Running and analysis of relevant shipment reports
  • Adhering to ups milestone compliance and other internal procedures
  • Liaising with the transport department to arrange a collection of shipments
  • Tracking and monitoring shipments
  • All associated administration tasks with the role in a timely and accurate manner
  • Completing customer reports
  • General telephone and postal requirements
  • Filing
  • Dealing with enquiries and queries
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations including Aviation Security
  • Customer service
  • Assistance in any other work areas as and when required
  • Producing export documentation from be-spoke in-house system

The role is 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day) and could sometimes require a 730 am start.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred such as logistics / transport / distribution admin. We are also looking for someone who is very flexible and willing to work overtime as and when required. This role requires excellent attention to detail, checking codes, references, shipping documents is a huge part of the role and therefore someone with a keen eye for accuracy is imperative. It also requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
